Marlene K. (Tripplett) Davis, departed this life on earth on October 28, 2013. Marlene was born on December 4, 1956 in Freeport, the daughter of L.A. and Lillian Tripplett. Marlene was a graduate of Freeport High School. She was previously employed by Honeywell, Boco and Service Master for many years. Marlene enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, camping and doing many activities with her grandkids. Her warm smile could brighten a room and she loved by many people. Marlene was also a member of the "The Brothers Motorcycle Club". She leaves to cherish her precious memories; one daughter, Katie (Nysheaki) Tripplett Clark of Freeport; twin sister, Darlene (Robert) Moore; six grandchildren, Vanessa Kent, Janessa Johnson, Stefevon Tripplett, De'Asia Clark and Donzell Swanigan and Mi'Terriona Carter all of Freeport, Il; one great-grandchild, Javariannya Johnson of Freeport; two brothers, George Tripplett of Belvidere and Arthur (Barbara) Tripplett of Rockford; five sisters; Rose Ann (Leon-Gilbert) Kennedy of Freeport, Minnie (Marvin) Coffee, Annette Chuna and Lynette Simmons both of Rockford; godparents, Kenny and Carolyn Lenoir; godsons, Tory Steel, Stanford Jarrells of Freeport, Sammie and Jay Adhakari of Pennsylvania. Also surviving are one god daughter, Miah Fletcher of Freeport, two special friends, Monika Ishmon and Doris Glass and her special buddy Amir Clark. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, grandparents, Swiney and Verilla Stansbery; and two brothers, Preston and Bobby Tripplett. The family would like to send a special thanks to Gloria (Dewayne) Farrar, Neighborhood Watch and also to Jodi Robinette and family for the care they have shown to Marlene. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. Rev. Lynn Hawkins will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church.
