Mark D. Sneek

Mark D. Sneek, 61, of Freeport, died Monday, September 2, 2019 in his home. Mark was born October 10, 1957 in Freeport, the son of Clarence L. and Shelby (Benoy) Sneek. He married Marissa Reotutar on July 22, 2006. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Mark worked at Cub foods as a meat cutter for 30 years. He was an avid Chicago Bear and Cubs fan. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and following all of his kid's activities. Surviving is his wife, Marissa Sneek of Freeport; mother, Shelby Sneek of Freeport; two sons, Adam (Brooke Folk) Sneek and Hayden Sneek both of Freeport; three sisters, Shelia (Charles) Steinhauser of Forreston, Dawn (Richard) Anderson of Centennial, Colorado, and Wendy (Scott) Burns of Freeport. Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Sneek; brother, Matthew Sneek; brother-in-law, Jerry Watson; and father-in-law, Anacleto Reotutar. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 7, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Fr. Joel Lopez O.F.S. will officiate. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at St. Thomas. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Mark's memory.
