Marjorie Sendecke

Marjorie 'Marge' Sendecke, 90, a resident of Parkview, died Tuesday September 27, 2011 in her home. Marjorie was born February 5, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Gus Florence (Olson) Perin. While serving at the USO during World War II she met Stanley C. Sendecke. They were married on July 8, 1944 in Long Island, New York. Marjorie was a Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, Freeport Memorial Hospital and Meals on Wheels volunteer. Marge was a member of the Civic Garden Club and made silk flower arrangements for the hospital's gift Shop. She enjoyed gardening and all kinds of needle work, painting, bridge, golf, bowling and her friends. Marge was a member and Deacon of First Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women's Association. Survivors include daughter; Barbara (Lee) Carlson of Littleton, Colorado and a son Charles 'Chuck' Sendecke of Elgin, Ill., five grandchildren: Jordon Sendecke, Erik Carlson, Amy Hearne, Adam Carlson and Emily Carlson and two great grandsons, Cayden and Kyle Hearne. Marjorie was preceeded in death by her husband Stanley, her parents and sisters Edith and Barbara. Funeral Services will be 7:00 P.M. Friday September 30, 2011 at Parkview Home with Rev. Carole Andres officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. until the time of service at Parkview Home.
