Marjorie M. Klapp, 83, of Freeport, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Marjorie was born on May 1, 1929 in Freeport, the daughter of Rudolph and Phoebe (Ditsworth) Klenz. On February 20, 1949 Marjorie married Wilbur H. Klapp. Family was very important to Marjorie, she was a very generous lady who had a big heart. She enjoyed attending garage sales where she was a great bargain hunter. She also like listening to her son Ron play the guitar and sing. Marjorie worked at several factories and was also a homemaker and housewife. Surviving are her husband, Wilbur Klapp of Freeport; two sons, Robert (Nancy) Klapp of Dakota and Ronald (Marcene) Klapp of Freeport; two daughters, Bonnie Staley of Rockford and Brenda (Craig) Ames of Freeport; four grandchildren, Jeff (Sarah) Staley, Wendy (Bradley) Williams, Cali Fagan and Erin (Trevis) Glass; four great grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Aiden Williams, Kyle Glass and Kaden Glass; four sisters, Betty Borgmann of Forreston, Velda (Donald) Baal of Pecatonica, Darlene (Irving) Greenfield of Ridott and Phyllis (Allan) Ackerman of Freeport; three brothers, Vern Klenz of Dixon , Allan Klenz of Freeport, and Gerald Klenz of Platteville, Wisconsin. Also surviving are brother-in-law, Alvin (Diane) Klapp of Stillman Valley; and sisters-in-law, Linda (James) Combs of Brodhead, Wisconsin and Grace Klenz of Freeport. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carolyn Kay Klapp and one brother, Kenneth Klenz. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 23, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Pastor John Hollis will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
