Marjorie M. Carr

Marjorie M. Carr, 96, of Freeport, IL passed away Friday January 28, 2022 at Manor Court of Freeport. She was born April 25, 1925 in Quincy, IL to David Miller and Clara Goeke. Marjorie was a 1943 graduate of Freeport High School and attended Cornell University and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL where she majored in Voice and minored in Music. On October 20, 1947 she married Willis "Jeep" Carr in Rockford, IL. Jeep passed away September 25, 1979. Marjorie was employed at FHN Memorial Hospital in central supply. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Marjorie loved animals, music, and most importantly spending time with her family. She is survived by her four sons Gary (Vicki) Carr, Daniel (Eleanor) Carr, Richard (Pauline) Carr, and John (Sheila) Carr all of Freeport, IL; three daughters Renee Stocker of Freeport, IL, Teresa Muggler of McConnell, IL and Helena (Joel) Whalen of Freeport, IL; eighteen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren with one on the way, five step-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Marjorie in death are her parents, husband, son James, grandson Kyle Tucker, son-in-law Tony Muggler, and daughter-in-law Doris Carr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Meyer officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
