Marilyn J. Ludwig

Marilyn J. Ludwig, 83, of Forreston, died Tuesday December 5, 2017 at Parkview Home in Freeport. She was born July 29, 1934 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of LeRoy and Susan (Ratmeyer) Folkerts. She married Herman J. Ludwig August 16, 1953 in Forreston, IL; he died July 22, 1989. Marilyn was a 1952 Forreston High School graduate, and attended Central College. She and Herman farmed in the Haldane area. She was a very active member of Forreston Reformed Church and also a member of the Reformed Church Women's Ministries. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Joan (Steve) Culver of Polo, IL; her son, Gerald (Amy Kaiser) Ludwig of Polo, IL; brother, Davis (Eunice) Folkerts; two sisters-in-law, Judy Folkerts of Forreston, IL and Priscilla Ludwig of Lanark, IL; six grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, Jennifer, Sara, Amanda, and Amber; eight great-grandchildren (with one expecting); and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother Lloyd; and an infant daughter Carol Ann. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday December 9, 2017 at Forreston Reformed Church with Rev. Lyle Zumdahl officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:30 P.M. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston.
