Marilyn E. Winters

Marilyn E. Winters, 94, of Freeport, IL passed away Thursday July 21, 2022 at Parkview Home. She was born August 5, 1927 in Afolkey, IL to Myron and Marena (Otte) Meinzer. On June 3, 1950 Marilyn married Charles Wi nters in Freeport, IL. Charles passed away May 9, 1999. Marilyn was employed at Crum & Forster Insurance for 25 years and upon retiring she received the Perfect Attendance Award for her entire 25 years of employment. She was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Marilyn enjoyed quilting and sewing. She is survived by her son Karl Winters of Lena, IL; three daughters Judith Winters of Crestwood, IL, Margaret (Todd) Benoy of Sabula, IA, and Janet Winters of Freeport, IL; seven grandchildren including her closest granddaughter, Amy Blum; and many great-grandchildren including closest to her Gabriel, Elijah and Eleanor. Preceding Marilyn in death is her husband Charles and two sons Keith (1979) and Curtis (2013). Curtis' wife, Norma, took Marilyn shopping weekly. Private family services will be held.
