Marie Elizabeth Sager

Marie Elizabeth Sager, 79, of Freeport, died Sunday June 15, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born August 4, 1934 in Stephenson County, IL, the daughter of Clark and Gertrude (Tamling) Strong, Sr. She married Donald "Zeke" Sager on February 3, 1962 in Freeport, IL; he died on December 25, 2002. Marie worked for State Bank/ US bank for 49 years. She attended Winneshier Evangelical Free Church. She was a member of State Bank retirement club. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, reading, gardening, and being outdoors. Marie is survived by her daughter Vicki Sager of Freeport, IL; three sister-in-laws Viola Strong of Stockton, IL, Judy Strong of Freeport, IL, and Juanita (Merlin) Watson of Freeport, IL; and also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers Clark, Jr., Richard, Elwood "Woody", and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday June 21, 2014 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, with Rev. John McIntosh officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home.
