Maribeth Klaus, 56, of Freeport passed away Saturday October 8, 2016 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. Maribeth was born March 11, 1960 in Freeport to Robert and Majorie Ann (Noe) Huisinga. Maribeth and Robert "Bob" Klaus were married October 3, 1980 in Freeport. She was a skilled home decorator where she owned and operated Creative Changes for over 12 years. Known for her enormous heart, Maribeth would go above and beyond to care for anyone in her life. Spending time with her sons and grandsons meant the world to her and she found great joy in watching their many sporting events and activities. Maribeth is survived by her husband Bob Klaus of Freeport; mother, Majorie Huisinga of Freeport; two sons, Michael (Tara) Klaus of Montgomery, IL and Shawn (Caitlin) Klaus of Freeport; brother, Jeff (Pat) Huisinga of Sun City Center, FL; two sisters, Cindy (Rich) Brzostek of Rockford and Luanne (Mike) Sabin of Freeport; and three grandsons, Jaxon, Dylan and Colton. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Serenity Hospice, Mary Boyer, Marcia Wells, Gwen and Tara Boddie, Diane Hughes and Maribeth's special daughters Ashtyn and Kylee Parkos. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday October 13, 2016 at Zion Church with Pastor Steve Rios officiating. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A luncheon will be held Thursday at the Eagles Club following the funeral services.
