Margaret R. Sass

Margaret R. Sass, 101, of Ridott, passed away, Friday March 25, 2022, in her home. Margaret was born February 20, 1921, in Freeport, the daughter of Arthur F. and Florence B. (Hall) Turner. Margaret was preceded in death by three husbands, Hester Moore, Charles Richardson, and Henry Sass. She worked for Structo, Garrity, and Micro Switch throughout her career, as well as always maintaining a well kept home. She was a former member of First Methodist Church and she enjoyed camping in her free time. Surviving is grandson, Steve Kunkle; sisters-in-laws, Virginia Turner and Sandra Turner; nieces and nephews, Debbie (John Blair) Jordan, Jamie Turner, David (Lorraine) Turner, Pat (Mike) Adkins, Sherry (Jim) Soehnlein, Peggy (Dan) Korth, Randy (Laurie) Turner, Su Tyler, Stuart (Filomena) Turner, and Michelle (Steve) Christenson; also surviving are numerous great nieces and great nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her three husbands; son, Larry A. Moore; daughter, Marlene K. Shippy; and three brothers, Robert, Allen, and James. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday March 29, 2022, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Visitation noon until the time of service. Pastor Kurt Strong will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Margaret's family would like to thank FHN Hospice for the great care and compassion they showed Margaret.
