Margaret "Peggy" M. Brobst

Margaret "Peggy" M. Brobst, 88, of Freeport, died Monday November 27, 2017 in her home. Margaret was born October 2, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth A. and Eleanor M. (Moses) Miller. She married Robert D. Brobst April 11, 1953 in Freeport. Mr. Brobst passed away March 21, 2003. Margaret worked at Micro Credit Union, Economy Life Insurance, and as a teacher aide for Freeport School District #145. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Surviving are her son, Kent (Larina) Brobst of Rochester, Minnesota; daughters, Robin Mahoney of Freeport and Laurie (Richard) Yake of Delafield, Wisconsin; sister, Connie Walterschied of Doniphan, Missouri; sister-in-law, Patricia Brobst of Freeport; and four grandchildren, Krista Brobst, Siri (fianc Andy Plank) Brobst, Talley Yake, and Dana Yake. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Susan Beard; son-in-law, Matt Mahoney; and brother-in-law, Larry Brobst. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday December 1, 2017 at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Calvin Haines will officiate. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday. Private family burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Margaret's memory.
