Margaret Benefiel

Margaret E. Benefiel, 88, of Freeport, died Sunday October 21, 2012, in her home. Margaret was born on December 19, 1923 in Centralia, IL. the daughter of George and Mildred (Thomas) Kalberkamp. On February 23, 1947, Margaret married Farrell E. Benefiel in Centralia. Mrs. Benefiel attended Williams Woods College from 1942 until graduating in 1946. Margaret was a homemaker. She was a member of Embury Methodist Church for 56 years. Mrs. Benefiel was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi. Survivors include her husband; Ferrell Benefiel, of Freeport, two sons; Thomas (Nancy) Benefiel of Freeport and Terry (Susan) Benefiel, of Carbondale, three grandchildren; Justin of Pearl City, Seth and Eric of Carbondale, one great grandchild; Owen of Pearl City. Also surviving is one brother, James Kalberkamp of Bellville, Ill. Family services will be held in Centralia, Illinois. Burial will be in Elm Wood Cemetery, Centralia, Illinois.
