Marcene Klapp

Marcene A. Klapp, 76, of Freeport, IL passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Provena St. Joseph Village in Freeport prior to her husbands arrival. She was born July 20, 1947 in Freeport, IL to Frank M. and Neva (Albright) Emrich. On May 5, 1984 she married Ron Klapp at a private residence on Park Boulevard in Freeport. In her early years Marcie worked at Job Service in Freeport. Faith was very important to Marcie and she and her husband attended local Evangelical Churches together. She enjoyed cooking, all kinds of wild life, especially bird watching, sewing, crafts, and her husband Ron’s music, which she said brought them together.

Marcie is survived by her husband Ron of Freeport, IL; and sisters and brother-in-laws Bonnie, Bob and Brenda.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, and sister-in-law Carolyn.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday September 20, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from noon until the time of service. Private burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Marcies' memory.
