Mamie Ruth Offard

April 30, 1934 — November 2, 2017

Mamie Offard, came into this world anxious and high spirited on April 30, 1934, one of twelve children born to the late John and Ethel (Lenoir) McGee in Freeport, IL. She and the late Samuel Offard were united in marriage in 1954 and to that union two children were born. Mamie worked outside the home at Micro Switch for over 20 years where she later retired. After retirement because Mamie was not one to sit around she was employed at Presence Saint Vincent Home for Developmentally Disabled Adults. Her priority was always her children who she loved with all her heart. She then kept herself busy by caring for her grandchildren who she passionate about. If you knew Mamie you knew she loved her Crossword scratch of Lottery tickets, which was her favorite past time. She also spent time babysitting for her Pastor's Mom's, Patricia Gearing, dog Sparky. She was known for her kind heart and giving spirit and the impact, she made on others. It never mattered to Mamie, she gave to anyone who needed the help, if she had it she would give it. Mamie loved and cherished her church family at Gospel Outreach Church, she loved to attend and be active in church. And so, it was on Thursday, November 2, 2017, Mamie left this earthly life after a sudden illness.
