Mae Elizabeth Maines

Mae Elizabeth Maines, 90, of Freeport, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at F.H.N. Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Mae was born September 13, 1925 in Warren, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Gallagher) Kent. She married Arthur Zellweger. Arthur was killed in action in World War II. She later married Howard Maines. Howard passed away on April 24, 2003. She was a former member of the Eagles and Germania Club. Mae enjoyed spending time with family and gardening. Mae is survived by two sons, Rick (Patty) Zellweger of Orangeville, IL and Roger (Lori) Maines of Roscoe, IL; one daughter Rhonda (Larry) Zeien of Geneseo, IL; special niece Sue (Gary) Eisenhower; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, son Randy, stepson Ronald, and granddaughter Amy. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. Brandon Bowmar officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
