Deaconess Mae Cora Green, 91, of Freeport died Wednesday, June 16 at her home. She was born November 5, 1929, in West, Ms. to Sam and Dossie Lou (Cain) Bailey. She married Charles Green on October 11, 1954, in West, Ms. He died September 16, 1995. She was raised in the Martin Grove Community of West, Ms. After moving to Freeport, Il. In 1954 she joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a Deaconess and loved going to Bible Studies until her illness. She was a great cook, loved people and enjoyed traveling with family. She journeyed with her husband to support her son on a trip to Trinidad in 1993. She traveled across the United States including Hawaii. Mrs. Green is survived by her two sons and two daughters Dr. Charles (Evon) Green of Milwaukee, Wi. Elmer Green of Atlanta, Ga. Carol (Otha) Johnson of Memphis, Tn. And Regina Green of Freeport. Six grandchildren, Leslie (Robert) Jones of Memphis, Tn. Corey Green of Madison, Wi., Courtney Johnson of Madison, Wi., Charla Green of Freeport, Il., Brittney and Briana Green of Freeport, Il. Seven great grandchildren: Trevius, Kayairrha, Jaden and Triniti Johnson, Jamari, Ariel and Kylan Green; Four Brothers: Robert (Ella) Bailey, Sam Percy Bailey, John (Dorothy) Bailey and Marshall Bailey of Milwaukee, Wi. Two sisters Lula (David) Stewart and Annie Glover of Milwaukee, Wi. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Natalie Green, brothers, John L and Clarence Bailey, sisters Mary Neal. Magnolia Gray and Ora Bailey. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 26, 11:00 A.M. at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist, Rev. Antwon Funches, Pastor, will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport.
