Mable Nora (Gross) Louthain, 82, of Rockford, formerly of Red Oak, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Anam Glen, Rockford. Mable was born May 2, 1935 in McConnell, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Pearl (Crouse) Campbell. She married Robert Gross on February 28, 1953. Mr. Gross passed away on September 2, 1987. Mable then married Richard Louthain on May 18, 1991. Mable lived most of her married life with Bob in Red Oak, IL. She enjoyed fishing her whole life and always enjoyed tending to her flowers and watching and feeding the birds in her later years in Rockford. Her last four years were spent at Anam Glen Alzheimer's Facility. She was a member of Cedarville Emmanuel Church and Lena Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Richard Louthain of Rockford; two sons, Lonnie (Bonnie) Gross of Mission, TX. and Donald Gross of Freeport; two daughters, Wendy (James) Heiler of McConnell and Cindy Meyers of Belvidere; two step-sons, Craig (Michelle) Louthain of Belvidere and Steve Louthain of Rockford; and step-daughter, Laura Padron of Loves Park. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Mable was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Gross; four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday April 13, 2018 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday April 12, 2018 also at Burke Tubbs. Please join the family at noon on Friday after the funeral for lunch and fellowship at Cedarville Emmanuel Church. Memorials have been established for Cedarville Emmanuel Church and NorthernIllinoisHospice.org in Mable's memory. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
