M. Virginia Alberts

M. Virginia Alberts, 90, formerly of Forreston, died Sunday January 29, 2012 at Freeport Rehabilitation Center. Virginia was born July 14, 1921 in Ft. Pierre, South Dakota, daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Allen) Whalen. On May 27, 1944 Virginia married Donald W. Alberts in Miami, Florida. Donald passed away on May 6, 1996. Virginia worked at Micro Switch for 27 years. She was a member of Forreston 1st United Methodist Church. She really enjoyed boating. Survivors include; daughter; Diana (Marv) Vietmeier of Forreston, two sisters; Marjorie Collalti of Freeport and Betty Burns of Tucson, Arizona, five grandchildren; Todd (Debbie), Laurie(Edgar), Kevin(Michelle), Randy and Darren. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Ron, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. on Thursday February 2, 2012 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston with Rev. James Stralow officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Burke Tubbs, Forreston. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in her memory.
