Lyle Mcginnis

Lyle M. McGinnis, 75, of Dixon, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in his home. He was born on September 10, 1936 in Kankakee, IL., the son of Maurice and Edna Ann (Piper) McGinnis. Lyle worked as a fire claims adjuster for State Farm for 35 years. He married Vicki Meyers on November 19, 1982 at the Church By The Side of the Road, Rockton, IL. Lyle was an Army Veteran-Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. His memberships included St. Patrick'™s Catholic Church in Dixon, Knights of Columbus, Ambucs of Rockford, American Legion, Kiwanis and Lions. Lyle enjoyed; traveling with his wife, Vicki, especially their trips to France and Alaska; equestrian activities with his daughters, Molly, Erin and Camille; attending his son, Andrew'™s wrestling matches; discussions with his family and friends about growing up on the family farm; video taping and taking photos of family events; doing yard work and working on equipment. Survivors include his wife, Vicki of Dixon; three daughters, Molly Jo McGinnis of Colorado, Erin McGinnis of Alaska and Camille Heilman Boucher of Illinois; brother, Marlen McGinnis of Bushnel, IL; sister, Arvella (Tim) Waugh of Mt. Vernon, IL; also five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his stepson, Andrew Justin Heilman; Mother and Father; and his brother Deryl McGinnis. Services will be Saturday, March 10, 7p.m. at Burke-Tubbs Freeport. Father John Gow will officiate. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. at Burke-Tubbs. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
