Lyle "Jim" W. Nesemeyer

Lyle W. "Jim" Nesemeyer, 81, of Freeport, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. Jim was born on March 9, 1934 in Freeport, the son of Walter and Vera (Griffin) Nesemeyer. Mr. Nesemeyer married Marlene Frank on July 23, 1955 in Freeport. Mr. Nesemeyer was a life long Florence Township area farmer. He was a 39 year member of the Freeport Rural Fire Department. He enjoyed snowmobiling and feeding his birds. Surviving are his wife, Marlene Nesemeyer of Freeport; son, Jeffrey (Debra) Nesemeyer of Freeport; daughter, Marcia (Bill Earnest) Nesemeyer of Seabrook, Texas; and two grandchildren, Jered (Stephanie) Nesemeyer of Freeport and Jestin Nesemeyer of Freeport. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Wayne "Bill" Nesemeyer. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday October 24, 2015 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Blomberg will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
