Lucille D. Dittmar

Lucille D. Dittmar, 94, of Freeport, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Lucille was born March 24, 1923 in Forreston, the daughter of H.M. "Harm" and Sadie (Meyer) Wubbena. She married William Howard Dittmar June 9, 1957 at Forreston Grove Presbyterian Church. Howard passed away on February 7, 1974. Lucille worked as a Registered Nurse in many roles throughout the country from 1947-1975. She was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church and Joy Singers. Surviving is her son, Craig (Alicia) Dittmar of Greer, S.C.; two daughters, Mary Jo (Bill) Gammans of Longview, TX, and Ann Marie Dittmar (Ed Maher) of Roscoe; and one granddaughter, Elora Dittmar of Memphis Tennessee. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carolyn Sue; sisters, Esther McGraw and her husband, Glen, and Irene LaBelle and her husband, Vic; brother, Art Wubbena and his wife, Ruth; and her grandson, Will Dittmar. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 1, 2018 at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church. Rev. Mark Balmer will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Park Hills on Thursday. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for Rockford Rescue Mission and Park Hills Evangelical Free Church in Lucille's memory.
