Louise M. Rudy, long time resident of Freeport, Illinois, died on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Brighton Gardens in Wheaton, IL. Louise was born on November 18, 1932 in Butternut, WI to Mathilde and Elmer Telschow and baptized at St. Paul'™s Lutheran Church in Butternut where her father served as minister. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Genoa, IL. She attended Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Marengo High School in Marengo, IL. She earned a degree in Education from Beloit College. She taught in Illinois and then in New Jersey where her husband was stationed in the army. Louise was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Freeport. She served on the Board of Evangelism, Lutheran Women'™s Missionary League, Miriam Society and Memorial Committee. She also taught Sunday school and Weekday School and was active with the radio ministry, sang in the choir, made quilts for missions, volunteered at the Freeport Pregnancy Center and was a visitor of the elderly and the sick. Surviving family members include a daughter, Diane (James) Gladstone of Saginaw, MI; three sons, Mark (Eugenia) Rudy of Fort Ashby, WV, John (Liz) Rudy of Downers Grove, IL and Dale (Melinda) Rudy of Batavia, IL; eight grandchildren, Gwendolen (Dave), Carl (Katie), Nicholas, Jonathan, Rebecca and Benjamin Rudy and Erin and Emily Gladstone; two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Julia Rudy; and a sister, Irene (Rod) Poppe. She is preceded in death by her husband David T. Rudy, her parents Elmer and Mathilde (Nolde) Telschow, two brothers, Frederick and Earl Telschow and one sister Jean Ann Telschow. Funeral services for Louise will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Freeport on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Stephen F. Precht will officiate. A visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Lutheran Women'™s Missionary League (www.LWML.org).
