Lottie M. Harrell

June 24, 1931 — March 21, 2018

Lottie M. Harrell, 86, of Freeport died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Lottie was born June 24, 1931, in Jackson, Mississippi. The only child of Otha Robinson and Nettie Coofer, she married Grant Harrell on June 6, 1949 in Freeport, Illinois. To that union, eight children were born. She was a member of First Church of God and valued her time being a choir member and fellowshipping with her church family. She was employed at Micro Switch and Structo for many years, but the job she valued most was being a mother. Lottie loved people and spread her love to everyone she crossed paths with. People loved stopping by and visiting with Mama Lottie. Although part of the reason may have been her perfect fried chicken, her laugh and hospitality were second to none. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children, William Harrell of Freeport, Illinois, Steven (Arlene) Harrell of Freeport, Illinois, Julie Harrell of Freeport, Illinois; Sarah (Joe) Shelton of Freeport, Illinois; Grant H. Harrell of Salt Lake City, Utah; Joy (Roy) Sellers of Freeport, Illinois; Stephanie (Glen) Burrola of Cedar Hill, Texas; Greta Harrell of Freeport, Illinois; and stepson Thomas (Frances) Herron of Freeport, Illinois. Her survivors also include 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; special daughters-in-law Eleanor Harrell, Tamra Harrell, and Linda Harrell; special cousins Ralph and Jean Lenoir and Patricia Lenoir, and special friend Catherine Cain. Lottie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a special nephew Robert Addison, and two grandsons, Garland Leewayne Harrell and Owen Lenwood Harrell. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday March 30, 2018 at Faith Center. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
