Lorna J. Brubaker

Lorna J. Brubaker, 97, of Freeport, died Tuesday July 17, 2012 at Parkview Home in Freeport. Lorna was born on August 6, 1914 in Cedarville, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Pepperman) Kahly. On February 25, 1933, Lorna married Kenneth W. Brubaker in Freeport. Mr. Brubaker died on January 7, 1995. Lorna worked for Micro Switch and W.T. Rawleigh. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Lorna volunteered at FHN Memorial Hospital and Taylor Park School. Survivors include son; James A. Brubaker of Freeport, daughter; Kenlynn (Wesley) Strasheim of Highlands Ranch, CO. four grandchildren; Andrew Strasheim, Carrie Brubaker-Hyra, Jennifer Brubaker-Schaber, and Kristine Levi. Also surviving are five great grandchildren; Amanda, Alexandra, Robert, R.J., and Lauren Lorna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Delmar, daughter; Arlene, one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday July 24, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Julie Bunt officiating. Visitation will be Monday 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Trinity on Tuesday.
