Lori L. Hopkins

Lori L. Hopkins, 54, of Freeport, died peacefully, Sunday October 16, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital surrounded by friends and family after a short battle with cancer. Lori was born September 21, 1962 in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Thelma (Banwarth) Hopkins. She worked at Presence St. Joseph Home where she was a LPN Case Manager. Lori was very involved in her son Carter's school activities which included music and theater. She was a wonderful mother and nurse. She enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time on the beach. Surviving are her son, Carter Hopkins-Croak of Freeport and his father, Tim Croak of South Daytona, Florida; her friend, Annie Baxa of Port Orange, Florida; four sisters, Vicki (Tom) Ertmer of East Dubuque, Kathy (Karl 'Duke") Richards of Lena, Becky (Mike) Harrenstein of Rib Lake, WI., and Mary Jo (Ken) Van Hauen of Pecatonica. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and her two dogs, Samantha Jo and Paisley. Lori was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Hopkins.
