Lonzo Brown

Lonzo Brown, 68, departed this life on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Lonzo was born on March 22, 1945 to the late Earnestine Brooks Franklin and Ben Brown Sr. Lonzo confessed Christ at an early age at Friendship Church in Durant, Mississippi under the leadership of Rev Williams. Lonzo worked at Kelly Springfield and Chrysler for many years. During retirement he still worked for Cimino's delivering pizzas. Lonzo served for his country in the U.S. Army. Lonzo graduated from Durant High School and attended Highland Community College and Columbia College were he earned many degrees. Lonzo enjoyed shooting pool and playing cards. Surviving are his wife, Linda Brown; two sons, Zuitman White of Freeport and Alphonzo White of Atlanta, GA.; four brothers, Patrick, Johnny, James, and R.D. Franklin all of Memphis, TN.; sister, Celestine (Franklin) Foster of Memphis, TN.; three grandchildren Deandre, Nicole and Nicque White of Freeport. Also surviving are two special cousins Otha Brooks and Bobby Jean Brown and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Lonzo was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, Ben Brown Jr.; three sisters, Icy Mae Franklin, Ruby Jean Franklin and Birdia Mae Franklin. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 11 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Freeport. Rev. Ricky Stidmon will officiate. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
