Lola Mae Diehl 77, of Freeport and former Forreston resident died Friday in F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. She was born January 24, 1934 in Freeport the daughter of Walter and Gladys (Stukenberg) Duitsman. She married Harlan Diehl on February 21, 1952 in Prairie Dell Church, Shannon. Mrs. Diehl and her husband farmed in the Forreston area. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Forreston. Mrs. Diehl enjoyed gardening and spending time with her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Mrs. Diehl is survived by her husband. Her son, Terry (Karen) Diehl of Forreston and her daughter, Debra (John) Gitz of Freeport. Four Grandsons; Scott (Christine) Gitz, Tim (Kari) Gitz, Tony(Kayla) Diehl and Todd (Jami Cox) Diehl. Two Great-Grandaughters; Violet and Lily Diehl. Two sisters; Shirley (Kenneth) Williams of Eleroy and Faye (Glenn) Schneiderman of Baileyville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marlys Pruitt. Funeral services for Mrs. Diehl will be Tuesday, 1:30 P.M. in First United Methodist Church, Forreston. Rev. David Pouts will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, 4:00-7:00 P.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. A memorial has been established in her name.
