Lois M. Meier

Lois M. Meier, 93, formerly of Freeport, Il, died Thursday December 27, 2012 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center in Rockford, Il. She was born to Felix and Laura (Voss) Dassing in Compton, IL on June 19, 1919. She was married in Cedarville, IL to Harry P. Meier on October 27, 1939; He died on July 31, 2008. Lois was a charter member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church and a member of The Women'™s Ministries organization. She had been employed at Micro Switch for 33 years before retiring in 1986. Surviving Lois in death is her son Craig (Gloria) Meier of Covington, LA; and one sister Fern F. Rose of Prescott, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Meier; two brothers, Wendell and Lowell Dassing; and two sisters Bernice Mathiot and Joanne Newcomer; as well as an infant sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday December 29, 2012 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, IL, with Rev. Mitch Sayler officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
