Lois L. McIlvanie, 83, of Freeport died Friday, September 27, in her home. She was born February 8, 1930 in Freeport, the daughter of Raymond and Lillian (Langan) Plowman. Lois married Clarence McIlvanie on June 11, 1950 in Freeport. He died July 14, 2007. Mrs. McIlvanie was employed by Freeport Telephone Company, Northern Illinois Gas Company, Micro Switch, Western States Insurance Company and Freeport Memorial Hospital. Lois enjoyed bowling and volunteering at Friends Forever Humane Society. She was a pet lover and enjoyed her special pets; Otis, Jocko and Shiloh. Mrs. McIlvanie is survived by her sons; Steve (Marilee) McIlvanie of Freeport, Tim (friend, Lois) McIlvanie of Mesa, Arizona, Mike( Pat) McIlvanie of Mesa, Arizona. One brother, Richard (Judy) Plowman of California. Her nephew Gary (Sandy) Plowman of Freeport; Twelve Grandchildren; Kenny, Mark, Joel, Todd, Michelle, Kyle, Leslie, Christine, Aindrea, Meghan, Kali and Ryan. Also, 17 Great-grandchildren In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Plowman, her sister, Carol Youngblut and her son Scott McIlvanie.. A funeral service for Mrs. McIlvanie will be Monday, October 7, at 6:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Deacon Vince Drees of Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Oakland Mausoleum. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
