Lois Arlene Janecek Malott, 93, of Forreston, IL, passed into the presence of her Lord on September 29, 2015 following an extended illness. She was born May 15, 1922 in Chicago, the daughter of Robert John and Sylvia Mae Paul Janecek. At the age of 4, she and her parents moved to Forreston where she attended and graduated from the Forreston schools. While actively attending the Evangelical United Brethern church in Forreston, she accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior and and throughout her life had several avenues of serving Him. On March 17, 1943, she married Herbert F Malott of Freeport. He died February 13, 1998. Together they had two children, who survive Lois. Daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and David Graff of Baileyville, IL Their son, Joel (Nikki) Graff with children, Micah and Silas of Dixon, IL and son, Andrew (Prescilla) Graff of Freeport, IL. Daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Karl Klipping of Forreston, IL. Their daughter, Raina (Bryan) Dyck with children, Nathaniel and Elizabeth of Byron, IL. And daughter Adrienne (Sam) Coussens with children, Nicholas and Victoria of Washington IL. Lois is predeceased by her husband, Herb and her brother, Wayne, and his wife Betty, Janecek of Polo, IL. Lois enjoyed traveling with her husband, traveling to Hawaii to see the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor, as her husband was in active Pacific submarine duty during WWII. They also traveled to the Holy Land and the highlight of their trip was being baptized in the Jordan River. Lois was an active member for many years of the American Legion Auxilary where she served in various offices and also worked with The Mustard Seed, a consignment shop in Forreston. During later years, Lois was involved in mentoring at the Forreston Grade School. Private graveside services for the family will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport, IL . Memorials may be directed to the mentoring program at the Forreston Grade School, or the Forreston Public Library, or organization of choice.
