Linda Kay Pinter, 66, of Freeport, IL, passed away Friday March 14, 2025 at Allure of Pinecrest in Mt. Morris, IL. She was born August 27, 1958 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of John Jr. and Ilene (Buskhol) Mailand. Linda married Leonard Pinter on June 11, 1977 at the United Brethren Church in Rockford, IL. She was the past President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Byron, IL.
She is survived by her husband Leonard of Freeport, IL; brother Earle Mailand of Byron, IL; three sisters Deloris VanBuskirk of Dixon, IL, Nola Johnson of Coldwater, MI and Carol Nicodemus of Freeport, IL; sister-in-law Jane Mailand of Coldwater, MI; special friends Amy, Bethany, Brooklyn, and Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Linda in death are her parents, father and mother-in-law; brother, Roger Mailand; two sister-in-law’s Ella Mailand and Joyce Mailand; and three brother-in-law’s Ken VanBuskirk, Larry Johnson, and Walter Nicodemus.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday March 20, 2025 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Egan Cemetery, Egan, IL. A memorial has been established in Linda’s memory.
