Lillian Elsie Kerkhoff

Lillian Elsie Kerkhoff, 95, of Freeport, died Wednesday May 3, 2017 at Manor Court. Lillian was born September 13, 1921 in Forreston, the daughter of Manuel and Reka (Fruhling) Wubbena. She married John "Jack" Kerkhoff December 29, 1943; he passed on December 25, 1986. Lillian was a housewife, helped her husband farm, and worked for Cut and Curl, and JC Penney Beauty Salon. She also volunteered at Freeport Memorial Hospital and Malcolm Eaton. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church. Survivors include her sister, Irma (Dean) Sander; sister-in-law, Lena (Robert) Stenback; brother-in-law, Fred (Eileen) Kerkhoff all of Freeport, and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Andrew Wubbena; 3 sisters & 4 brother-in-laws: Fannie (Carl) Ruthe, Mabel (Forbes) DeVries, Florence (Relman) DeVries, and Dean Sander; 10 sister-in-laws & 9 brother-in-laws: Fannie (Nonne) Buss, Tracy (Yitt) Frederick, Alta (Ray) Truckenmiller, Thomas (Myrtle) Kerkhoff, Ida (Floyd) Colbert, Heiko (Alberta) Kerkhoff, Engelene Kerkhoff, Robert Stenback, Frank (Velda) Kerkhoff Jr., Eileen Kerkhoff, Edwin (Ester) Kerkhoff and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 13, 2017 at Zion Church, Freeport, IL. Rev. Justin Coverstone will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
