Lewis Henry Ackerman

Lewis Henry Ackerman, 88, of Freeport, died Monday at FHN Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Lewis was born March 21, 1922 in German Valley, Illinois the son of John and Lena (Mustert) Ackerman. On March 12, 1948 Lewis married Dorothy Cook in Belvidere. Lewis farmed near German Valley and worked for Fairbanks-Morse. He later owned and operated Ackerman Heating & Air Conditioning. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, a former member of Golden K Kiwanis for over 20 years, he was a volunteer worker for both F.A.C.C. and meals on wheels. Lewis also enjoyed bowling, golf and card games. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Freeport, son, Charles (Claire) Ackerman of Perrysburg, Ohio, daughter, Barb (Mike) O'™Grady of Ridott, seven grandchildren; Jon (fianc
