Lewis F. Boettner, 84, of Freeport, died Friday July 17, 2015 in his home. He was born June 23, 1931 in Dubuque, IA, the son of Ernest and Ruth (King) Boettner. He married Charlotte Carter March 20, 1964 in Freeport, IL. Lewis was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of Cedarville Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, water skiing, and archery. He was a craftsman and a handyman. Lewis is survived by his wife Charlotte Boettner of Freeport, IL; three sons Mark (Traci) Boettner of Winnebago, Il, Todd (Alauna) Boettner of Dubuque, IA, and Brian (Jessica) Boettner of Montgomery, IL; his brother John (Beth) Boettner of Rockford, IL; and seven grandchildren Alex, Drew, Madeline, Michael, Kale, Brianna, and Lillian Boettner. Lewis was preceded in death by his parent and his sister Joy. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with Rev. John Brandner officiating. Visitation will be from11:00 A.M. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in his memory.
