Leslie E. Bruce

Leslie E. Bruce, 88, of Freeport, died Sunday December 27, 2020 at Pearl Pavilion in Freeport. He was born May 18, 1932 in Mounds, IL, the son of Clyde and Eula (Baker) Bruce. Leslie married Lila Oftedahl June 19, 1971; she died September 1, 2013. Leslie worked at J.C. Penney for many years. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed going for walks, golfing, and vacationing in Florida during the winter. Leslie is survived by his two stepsons, James (Roxi) Weik and Robert Weik both of Freeport; brother, Larry Bruce; and sister Linda Miller; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. Leslie was preceded in death by his parents and wife. There will be no visitation or funeral services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be in Oakland Cemetery.
