Leonard L. Otto, 87, of Baileyville, died, Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Leonard was born on January 22, 1926, in Freeport the son of Irvin and Adah (Petermeier) Otto. On October 4, 1953, Leonard married Esther A. Kneller in Freeport. Leonard farmed in the Baileyville area for over 60 years on the farm that his family owned for over 100 years. Leonard was a member of the Antique Engineer Club and the American Legion Post 308 in Forreston. He was the president of the President Silver Creek Museum and a member of The Stephenson County Farm Bureau. Leonard is survived by his Three Grandchildren; Tracy Otto, Clayton Otto and Staci Otto. Four great-grandchildren; Kadeisha Otto, Jasemine Tillman, Trevon Tillman and Angel Newton and one great great grandaughter, Ja'™Lycea Lutz. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brian Otto who died October 5, 2005. Funeral services for Leonard and Esther will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport Rev. Stephen Precht, Pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at Burke Tubbs. Funeral Home, Freeport. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
