Leonard C. Hagemann

Leonard C. Hagemann, 91, of German Valley died Friday, March 31, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Center. Leonard was born April 23, 1925 the son of Christian and Augusta (Kilker) Hagemann. He married Alice Heckman, August 31, 1946 in Freeport. Alice passed away July 26, 2010. Leonard was a lifelong farmer in the German Valley area. He was a member of North Grove Evangelical Church and the 60's Alive Church Group. He enjoyed tractor pulling and woodworking. Leonard was passionate about his tractors. Surviving are two sons, Larry (Lynnie) Hagemann of Machesney Park, IL. and John (Karen) Hagemann of Pahrump NV.; daughter, Pat (Dave) O'Brien of German Valley, IL.; brother, Melvin Hagemann; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, LeRoy, Ray, Harvey, Verlon; three sisters, Lois Stebbins, Ruth Hagemann, and Lucille Hagemann; and one grandson, Chris O'Brien. Funeral services will 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 4, 2017 at North Grove Evangelical Church. Rev. Tim Hotchkiss will officiate. Visitation will be Monday 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston. Burial will be in North Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
