Lena W. Schroeder

Lena W. Schroeder, 97, of Forreston, IL, died Monday November 2, 2015 at Apostolic Christian Home in Roanoke, IL. She was born March 23, 1918 in Ogle County Illinois, the daughter of William and Reika (Janssen) LaBudde. She married Simon Schroeder November 19, 1949 in Forreston, IL; he died August 22, 2008. Lena and her husband farmed their family farm. She was a member of Forreston Reformed Church. Lena was a member of the Forreston American Legion Aux. She also was a Co-leader of the Forreston Friskies 4-H. Club. Lena will always be remembered for her dedication and hard work. Lena is survived by her two daughters Louise Meyer of Roanoke, IL and Judith (Tom) Nettles of Freeport, IL; four grandchildren Sara (Jason) Stolp, Nicholas Meyer, Adam (Kristen) Meyer, and Christian Meyer; and four great-grandchildren Jonah Stolp, Slater Stolp, Micah Stolp, and Patrick Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, he brother Fritz LaBudde, and her son-in-law Dr. Ronald Meyer. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday November 11, 2015 at the Forreston Reformed Church in Forreston with Rev. James Stralow officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the church.
