Learner Pogue, 83, of Freeport 'Went on home to be with the lord' on Tuesday July 25, at Freeport Rehab. And Health Care Center following a short term illness. She was born June 3, 1929 in Charleston , Mississippi the daughter of Ben and Maggie Tabor. Ms. Pogue came to know the Lord at a early age. She enjoyed reading the bible and teaching young folks about the lord. Ms. Pogue was one of the greatest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Pogue was a mother of eight children, four sons and four daughters. She was married to Leonard Ruffin, with this union they had two children; Annie Mae Ruffin-Haley and J.T. Pogue. She married John E. Pogue and they shared six children; Halbert G. Pouge, John Lee pogue, Kathy Sue Pouge, Nomia Pouge, Betty Joe Pouge, and Mark A Pouge . Mrs. Pogue leaves to cherish her precious memories three sons; J.T. Mark and Halbert. Her daughter, Annie Mae Ruffin-Haley. Her sister, Kathrine Ballard. 14 Grandchildren and a host of great- grandchildren and even a great-great-grandmother. Also a hosts of nieces, nephews and other realtivies. She was preceded in death by six children and four sisters. Funeral services for Mrs. Pogue will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at New Jerusalem Church Church of God in Christ with Rev. Ezell Jackson, pastor officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the Church. Burial will be in City Cemetery, Freeport.
