Laverne Visger

LaVerne G. Visger, 74, of Winslow, IL, died Wednesday February 18, 2015 in his home. He was born October 24, 1940 in Rock County, WI, the son of Leslie and Helen (Johnson) Visger. He married Mary Thompson December 24, 1961 in Freeport, IL. LaVerne worked at Modern Plating for over 30 years. He enjoyed stock car racing, tractor pulls, riding motorcycle, working with his hands, and building things. Family was a very important part of his life. Laverne is survived by his wife Mary Thompson of Winslow, IL; his son Lynn (Lynn) Visger and their children T.J and Brooke of Freeport, IL; two daughters Loretta Visger and her children Dalton and Makenzi of Broadhead, WI, and Laura McCord and her children Mike and Justin of Phoenix, AZ; and his sister Marie Johnson of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date in the springtime at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
