Laverne Karl Janicke

LaVerne Karl Janicke, 85, of Forreston, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Polo Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. LaVerne was born October 9, 1932 in Freeport, the son of John A. and Mabel M. (Rosenstiel) Janicke. He married Patricia Ann Moyer February 20, 1954 in Martintown, Wisconsin. Mrs. Janicke died February 13, 1984. LaVerne was a semi-truck driver for 50 years. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and going to Casinos. He was a former member of the Freeport Eagles Club and Moose Lodge. Surviving are five sons, Karl (Belinda) Janicke of Freeport, Kenny (Leslie) Janicke of Helotes, Texas, Kevin Janicke of Naperville, Keith Janicke of Chicago, and Kirk (Angie) Janicke of Forreston; two daughters, Kathy Janicke of Forreston, and Kim (Clifford Gilbert Jr.) Janicke of Mt. Morris; two sisters, Leona Grebner of Lena, and Ethel Miller of Rockford. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. LaVerne was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Janicke; son, Brian; brother, Arthur; four sisters, Esther, Delores, Dorothy, and Shirley;and great-grandson, Kristian. Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Friday December 15, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Rev. William Blomberg will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday December 14, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Burial will be in Cadiz Cemetery (Green County, Wisconsin). A memorial has been established in LaVerne's Memory.
