Laurie A. Thomas

Laurie A. Thomas, 63, of Freeport, IL passed away Monday February 19, 2024 in her home. She was born May 10, 1960 in Freeport to Marvin and Marguerite (Herbst) McKee. Laurie was employed at the Freeport School District for many years as a cook. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and making her own beef jerky.

She is survived by her mother Marguerite McKee of Freeport; son Thomas (Sadie) Farwell of Lake Geneva, WI; daughter Tara Farwell of Dallas, TX; brothers Lindsay McKee of Freeport and Larry (Lori) McKee of Eufaula, AL; three grandchildren Tyson, Amarion, and Amira; and one great-grandchild Cyra.

Preceding Laurie in death is her father and brother Terry McKee.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-5 PM Saturday May 11, 2024 at Lucky Pines Pub House, 5040 US-20 BUS, Freeport, IL 61032. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established in Laurie’s memory.
