Laurence L. "Larry" Miller

Laurence (Larry) Lee Miller, was born January 6, 1942 in Freeport, IL. Larry passed away on October 29, 2024 at Manor Court of Liberty Village in Freeport, Il. Larry was 83 year old, he was the son of H. Roy (Bud) Miller and Lura E. (Snyder) Miller.

Larry married Lucy Vietmeyer in October 1989. He graduated from Freeport Senior High School in 1961. He joined the Army Security Agency “ASA” right after graduating. . He worked at Micro-Switch for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Moose Lodge 162 of Freeport. He loved to bowl, and bowled in mix league with his mom, dad, sister, and brother. He also loved to hunt in his younger years.

Larry is survived by his brother’s, Dennis D. (Sally) Miller of Leominster, MA, and Mike Miller of Frostproof, FL; sister, Lura Sue “Susie” (Douglas) Henderson of LaVernia TX; brother-in-law, Dwayne Timm of Freeport, IL; step-granddaughter, Tracie (Tim) Whalen; step-granddaughter Nikki Kaderly; as well as nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lucy Miller; brothers, Ronnie and Gary Miller; and sister, Bonnie.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday November 8, 2024 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum Freeport, IL. A memorial has been established in Larry’s memory.
