Laura Mae Johnson, 64, of Racine, WI, silently closed the door on her walk of life to go home to be with her heavenly Father on, Aug. 24, 2013. Laura Mae was born in Clarksdale, Miss on Sept.27, 1949 to John and Luberdia Bell. She graduated from Freeport Senior High School. Laura was married to Walter James Johnson on Aug.20, 1968; they were married for 45 years from this union one child was born, Kendra. Laura Mae worked as computer operator, for the City of Racine for 25 plus years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, and reading. She was also a member of 2nd Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport, IL. Laura Mae leaves to cherish her memories, husband Walter Johnson, daughter Kendra C. Johnson, grandchildren Nicole Allen-Johnson, Kiana Charise McGee, and Marcus James McGee, siblings Eddie (Eliz) Furge, Larry (Sarah) Bell, Stephen (Ernestine) Bell, Anna (Calvin) Bell and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, In-laws as well as special friends. Laura is preceded in death by her parents John and Luberdia Bell, Brother Milton Charles Bell, Niece Kimberly Bell, and grand-daughter Angel Nicole McGee The funeral service will be held Saturday August 31, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Demond Newburn of St. Paul will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:00 A.M. until time of service at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
