Larry Vernon Buss

Larry Vernon Buss, 90, of Freeport, passed away, Thursday, September 15, 2022, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Larry was born July 7, 1932, in Freeport, the son of John F. and Clara V. (Stratmann) Buss. Larry married Mary Kay Tappe on December 18, 1954, in Peoria. Mrs. Buss passed away October 18, 2020. Mr. Buss proudly served his country in the U.S. Army; he was a Korean War veteran. Larry was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Surviving is his son, Kevin M. (Becky) Buss of Sterling. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday September 20, 2022, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Fr. Peter Snieg will officiate. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at St. Thomas. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established for All Veterans memorial Park in Larry's memory.
