Larry L. Becker

Larry L. Becker, 70, of Freeport died Monday in his home. Mr. Becker was born December 2, 1940 in Freeport the son of Everett and Elaine Becker. Larry served in the United States Navy for Twenty years which included the Viet Nam Era. He was on various Air Craft Carriers and worked mostly as a Electrician. He then was employed in Civil Service for Twenty years. Larry later volunteered and worked with the Freeport Auxiliary Police Department. He was a member of Freeport Eagle'™s Club 679. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and country music. Larry is survived by his son and daughter. His special friends; Barb Sweitzer of Freeport and Jeff (Amy) Davis of Freeport. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Mr. Becker will be Friday, 11:00 A.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Jarrard, Chaplain of Freeport Police Department will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. A memorial has been established for Volunteers serving in the Freeport Police Department.
