Lanette Bucher

Lanette Bucher, 73, of Rockford, IL passed away Tuesday December 19, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 21, 1950 in Freeport, IL to Robert and Edna (Wickham) Marker. She was a 1968 graduate of Auburn High School in Rockford. After graduating high school Lanette attended and graduated from Beauty School. On November 10, 1973 she married Sherman Bucher in Rockford. Her hobbies included discussing politics, playing games on the computer, browsing Facebook, watching Judge Judy and she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the times she spent goofing around with her grandkids.

She is survived by her mother Edna of Spooner, WI; children Aaron (Ashli) Bucher of Benton, AR, Amanda Bucher of Rockford, IL, Angela (Charles) Elder of Spooner, WI; two brothers Carl (Mary Ann) Marker of Auroa, IL and Brett Marker of Spooner, WI; seven grandchildren Brogan and Marek Bucher, Hunter Watts, Genevieve, Tiffany, Charlie and Alyssa Elder; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lanette in death is her father Robert, husband Sherman, and brothers Bob and James.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday December 29, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, IL. A visitation will be held from noon until the time of service. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum. A memorial has been established in Lanette’s memory.
