L. V. Hollins

Evangelist L. V. Hollins, 65, of Freeport, ascended to heaven on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. She was born on October 6, 1946, in Pickens, Mississippi, to Roosevelt and Earnestine Fisher. Evangelist Hollins worked at Micro Switch; she liked to crochet, she enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a tireless soldier in the army of the Lord. Evangelist Hollins is survived by three children; Thelma L. (Victor) Hollins, Robert E. Hollins, and Sandy M. Hollins; six grandchildren; Jason J. (Amber) Driver, Juston E. (Amanda) Driver, Victoria L. (Bert) Driver, James F. (Elizabeth) Robinson Jr., Romeo D. Hollins and Joshua L. McClellan; four great grandchildren; Dishondre'™ S. Driver, Genesis D. Johnson, JaiDrah Z. Driver, and Titus A.J. Gleason; two brothers; Lee and Willie Fordson; two sisters; Louise Stephenson (daughter Tracy) and Lizzie Ford. Her best friend of over 35 years; Rosa L. Brown and all of her New Jerusalem church family. Evangelist Hollins was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Chester Hollins and brother Emite L. Ford. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2012 at New Jerusalem Church with Pastor Ezell Jackson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.
