Kittye L. Senneff, 80, a lifelong resident of Freeport, IL. passed away peacefully in her home on July 30, 2022. She was born February 3, 1942 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Jay and Madelyn (Van Matre) Hartman. Kittye married her high school sweetheart Bill Senneff on September 2, 1961 after graduating from Freeport High School, Class of 1960. Kittye worked at Crum and Forrester Insurance for five years before leaving to raise three wonderful children and assisting Bill with scheduling service calls in their home-built business, Senneff Appliance Service. Kittye later worked for the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) where she spent over 20 years devoted to children and families in need. She was entirely dedicated to ensuring all children in her care felt respected, cared for and important. Kittye enjoyed playing cards and remained active with her card club of 60 years, enjoying the company of her two remaining groupmates Gloria and Sue. In earlier years she enjoyed dancing at the Germania Club, and in more recent years she enjoyed, time spent with friends at the Freeport Eagles Club, traveling within the Unites States and abroad, and spending the winter seasons in Florida. Most of all Kittye loved spending time visiting, vacationing with and attending sporting or any other events involving her beloved children and grand-children. She was a friend to all, a good cook, the most loving mother and grandmother and a devoted soul-mate and best friend to the love of her life Bill. She will be dearly missed. Kittye is survived by her husband, Bill Senneff of Freeport, IL; sons, Trent (Bonni) Senneff of Caledonia, MS and Blair (Chrislyn) Senneff of Freeport, IL; daughter, Shanelle (Justin) Bardell of Freeport, IL; grandchildren, Marrissa (Derik), Zachary (Ramsey), Connor, Zoie, and Zayden; great-grandchildren, Gordon and Ava; sister-in-law, Sinda (Robert) Swanson of Andalusia, IL; and loyal friends Karleen and Judy. Kittye was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jack Hartman. A visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Friday August 5, 2022 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, followed by a funeral service beginning at 6:00 P.M. Private family entombment services will take place at a later date at Oakland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory.
