Kenneth W. Sigafus of Freeport IL went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday January 17, 2021. He was born in Apple River IL on July 26, 1930. He was the son of Arthur and Vera Sigafus. He graduated high school and joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country overseas in England during the Korean war. After the war he became a policeman with the Freeport police department, then worked as a mailman for the Freeport Post Office for 25 years, and in his retirement, years drove vehicles for a local car dealership. He married Barbara Ella Maze on May 19, 1956 and they have been faithfully married for 64 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughters Lisa Sigafus of Ohio, Linda (Steve) Rios and Vonda (Robert) Campbell of Freeport IL, and nephews Rodger (JoAnn) Gorsline, Robin (Karen) Gorsline of Freeport IL and David Sigafus of Sterling IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Verald Sigafus and his sister June Gorsline. He loved growing plants and cactus, and collecting John Deere toy tractors, model cars and antique clocks. He was a member of the Evangelical Full Gospel Church and the Gospel Outreach Church in Freeport IL, where he loved his Lord and worshipped Him in playing the piano and keyboard for 60 years. He also attended the Zion Church of Freeport the last couple years of his life. He was loved and will be missed by his family and brothers and sisters in Christ, but we will see him again one day. Service will be on Thursday January 21, 2021 at 11:30 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Pastor Steve Rios presiding. Visitation 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Burke Tubbs also on Thursday.
